Caught in the headlight

The backyard is usually dark, there are no lights back there and if you go out there at night and look up to the sky, you get a rare glimpse of the stars. In the winter, when the trees lose their leaves, you can see the Capitol and the ever changing downtown skyline glimmering. When the upstairs neighbor parks his truck,  everything comes to life; the trash bins light up and the shadows dance around for a few seconds and then he turns the headlights off and it goes dark again.  It is a brief, beautiful little show.
